you're not gaming with it.

as long as you're not using it for any kind of large files, and just need it to surf the web, email and placing bets, it's fine

if you're looking to hear that a chromebook is as good as a laptop, it will depend on your needs
I once bought a chromebook and didn't like it for reasons that I have too many files and programs, but that doesn't mean it's not good for your uses.

chrome books great value for what they do

do not expect to have multiple files and programs open at the same time though

for internet, email, apps, etc.

been using mine at S.I.A. and pinny for about 3 yrs,,, no issues. even visiting others for info purposes, never had an issue.

For computers today, it's a browser thing- especially IF you multitask programs, browse with beaucoup simultaneous tabs AND you have a touchscreen:

If you have to use Chromium, stick to Chromebook or Android.

If you have to have Windows, only use Edge \ IE.

If you're on Apple, stick to Safari.

BTW If you're on any Samsung product, their generic \ native Internet Browser is a fantastic alternative.

The biggest reason is because OSes today, for security reasons, only give substantial system \ kernel \ driver access to their native browser OOTOH none or very limited third party app access.
You really notice this when multitasking programs, with many non-native browser open tabs & when scrolling vertically, especially on touchscreens( & the latter extends to scrolling documents on other apps as well).

As far as Flash i wouldn't worry, even if some sites don't update. There will always be independent devs with Flash browsers, that don't kowtow to the big boys. You could always use one of them on whatever trusted site ONLY.

The books in the US require a plugin called Geocomply to verify your location. Make sure that plugin can be installed if you want to bet with US books.
