I saw a documentary on Brampton about how poor immigrants who couldn't afford Toronto housing back in the 90's bought large houses in Brampton for a fraction of Toronto house and now they are all loaded because they paid of their houses in full and its worth 5 to 10x the buying price now. Not only that these immigrants were able to buy 2nd rental condos and make money off rent from these condos and as well as renting out their basement apartment too.
