Why don't they just make it simple: a player gets in or he doesn't. There's no need to release vote totals; all it does is start useless arguing. If Willie Freakin' Mays isn't unanimous, I could care less that an obvious inductee is left off one or two ballots.

Because within the last few years Mariano Rivera got the unanimous vote and he only pitched once every 3 or 4 games while Jeter played daily and impacted every WS ring greatly

I like this. Let the results stay private. It really is pass/fail with the line at 75%. Getting 100% or 78% means nothing to getting in.
