Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez | Netflix
Watching this now. Seems pretty good.

Via interviews with friends, players and insiders, this intense documentary series examines how Aaron Hernandez went from NFL star to convicted killer.

Enjoyed it. His gay playmate sure liked talking about their "horseplay" a lot.

Are horseplay and grab-ass with men common in HS, based on your experience, JJ? Experimentation can lead to passion.

JJ did a flame bookie ever offer you drugs when making a bet? Did he invite you inside for movies, brunch, indoor hot tub? How do you detect a flame bookie so you can avoid before it goes too far?

He preferred men. Hey was more gay/bisexual. As with all gays, he had he had childhood sexual abuse. Gays are not born gay. Every gay had some sexual abuse, molestation or his/her first sexual experience/fondling molestation was with the same sex...this can entirely put you on a new trajectory when it comes to sexuality. If that person who went through had tough child hood on top of the sexual stuff, it is even more likely that they will turn out homo or transgenders.

Hernandez was also sexually molested as a child.A teenaged boy in his babysitter's house forced Hernandez to perform oral sex on him beginning when Hernandez was six years old and continuing for several years.A college girlfriend said that "he never dealt with [the sexual abuse]. It led to issues in his sexuality." Combine that with cray parents, physically and verbally abusive alcoholic father and all sort of family troubles, its a surprise he still manged to hide his sexuality, marry a girl and have kids.

This was a bit flat that went around in circles after being hyped up a fair bit. Nothing that wasn't already really reported in the media.

The main drawing point was people guessing why he did what he did with footage of his trials/evidence/conversations with people related to the story in between.

I'm guessing not everyone wanted to be interviewed in this which explains may be why the gay cell mate doesnt feature in it even though it was supposed to be a big talking point.

The simplest reasons for what he did are often maybe the most accurate ones, he hung out with the wrong crowds, and it made him feel invincible, and no amount of experimenting with dudes, suffering from CTE from playing football, or having a rough upbringing can excuse that.

I do agree with the comments from I cant remember who it was (his lawyer?) that it probably wasn't an accurate depiction of him personally and now that he isn't alive we will probably never really find that out.

A more relevant name for this would be something along the lines of being the story of Hernandez' life and murder trial...it didn't really have much to do with 'inside the mind' really.

This guy was a stoned cold gangster killer. He wanted to be "that guy", despite being a pro athlete. Not much different than Javaris Crittendon situation, or even Lil Boosie. The story really should be about why wealthy successful people want to be "bad boys" even after they achieve success. Him being gay or what not has nothing to do with killing people.
