Per Ian Rapoport: Carolina expected to trade Cam Newton this March

This seemingly set up former NFL MVP Cam Newton for a return to relevance after missing a vast majority of the 2019 campaign with a Lisfranc injury.
That’s apparently not the case. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the expectation is that Carolina will trade Newton once he’s healthy. That could come as early as March.

Sam Bradford was traded for a first round pick. So Newton will at the very least, net the Panthers a second rounder.

Yeah took Car to the big game. MVP that year with a real pedestrian set of play makers. But now time will tell if he has anything left in tank. Agree with move here by CAR to start fresh with a new QB. See what happens.

Some mock trades have teams giving up a first/fourth or fifth for Cam which seems steep but then again the Panthers are waiting until he is healthy to trade him. And I don't know if teams will be absolutely desperate to trade for him like the Vikings were with Bradford.

But then you have QB's like Brady, Dalton and Winston looking for new teams as well. And to a lesser extend perhaps Eli.
