    MLB officially sells out

    Just had to do it....

I don't recall the Busch family putting Budweiser logos on the Cards...

The Pohlads putting Pepsi on the Twins

Why can't we just have advertising free uniforms in 1 sport?

Because there's too much money in it.

a small logo of the actual manufacturer of the uniform doesn't bother me too much

looks like each mlb team gets $3 million a year for ten years which is much smaller than the other revenue sharing streams.

honestly I would accept freaking ads all over the jersey, ads covering the outfield walls, ect

      IF

baseball would reform their revenue sharing and put a FLOOR on spending, having a cap isn't enough. Why should a team with big pockets have to deal with figuring out if they will pay a luxury tax for spending more and trying to make a competetive entertaining team for fans, while small market teams like the Rays, Marlins, Pirates actively try to lower payroll so the owners can profit from the revenue sharing with no fear of any consequences without a floor.

we all know that teams get a shit ton of $ from the national TV rights being shared, but did you know if you buy any MLB hats, uniforms, memorbilia, apparel ect from anywhere EXCEPT in a team's stadium store. That money is also shared.

so if I buy a Red Sox hat at mlb.com that part of that $ is going to the Pirates, where its been documented that in some years, they get more $ in revenue sharing then they spend on payroll. How is that allowed?

MLB sold out years ago when they did nothing when everyone knew McGwire and Sosa, followed by Bonds, and many others were juiced to the hilt in the 90s and 2000s.

They didn’t do anything about it because the long ball was bringing the sport back from the dead after the 94 strike.

They should have put ads for Anabol on Sosa’s Jersey.
