    Great story from last night.....
    Good story from last night
Sitting next to a guy who is betting $3000 a hand at BJ and he is playing 2 hands at a time.
    I'm playing $100
He gets to double both hands
So he has $12,000 in play
And I'm last guy at table and hit and bust
Dealer would have won if I didn't hit and he busts
Guy won $12,000 and gave me $1000

Sweet. I love stories like that.

Very first trip to Vegas just after turning 21 I was betting $20 a roll on the pass line playing craps. An old one-armed veteran had one or two grand on the pass line and he’d throw another grand on big red every so often.

Every time it was my roll, he’d yell out, roll a 7 and I’ll give you $100. Must have made six or seven hundred off of him in about 45 minutes, which was a lot of coin for me back then.

That is what the ANCHOR does takes it for the table. That being said as long as the table is in it for the TABLE, not personal agenda

              Good work on anchor SHUTE

that guy treated you right as the anchor. definitely did not expect you to say he gave you $1K. that is pretty sweet.

                        Great story.

What was the situation, though? Was it an "easy" hit?

That's exactly what he should have done. He's a good guy. Understands the game.
Anchor man is always in the toughest position. Many times you take the hit for the table.
Whenever I play blackjack now it's two hands on first base.

And there’s nothing worse than when the anchor fukks up the table.

I always play by the book (rare exceptions with a good card count), I've been in similar situations that are not for 3k a hand.

I'll just look at the guy and ask him what they would like me to do ,because I don't want to be that guy and the decision is on them

Exactly. If I’m playing my $100 and there’s anyone with more than a yellow on the hand I’ll let him make any close call when I’m in the anchor seat.
