I actually really like the New Orleans vibe.. It's a musical and party vibe that I can dig.

Lotta history too.. Been there 3 times and I always had a good time.. I'm a music lover though, curious as hell with the ghost tours and adventures over there.. Been there done that all..

Love the Victorian homes outside the square.. Hate the gumbo and food.. Just me..

Shit is sub sea level, great investments to be had every time it floods out after a major hurricane.. They always rebuild and hype up the levy strength that will fold again and again under hurricane force winds and rising tides...

                Enjoy!

Here are just a few suggestions..

1)domilise's on Annunciation st for the best PO boys you'll ever eat, their combo oyster/shrimp is heavenly.

2)liuzza by the track, near the fairgrounds is a gem which has incredible BBQ Shrimp and gumbo. Outstanding little place definitely not a tourist trap.

3)coops place - the Cajun chicken and jambalaya are unbeatable.

4)mr B's bistro , incredible BBQ Shrimp and the pork chop is immaculate

5)acme oyster house in the French quarter. The chargrilled Oysters are amazing, the etoufee is divine.

                6) jaques-imos - try it, you will not believe how good the food is, highly recommended for blackened redfish.

                7) NAPOLEON house, the boudan sausage is a perfect appetizer

8)hotel monteleone - the carousel bar is historic and fun as well, great drinks.

9)casamentos - best fresh and chargrilled Oysters I've ever had, check.the hours, very limited times they are open, don't miss this place if possible.

As you can see, that's plenty to go for, and there are only about 1000 more incredible places.
