He will knock down shots when lillard gets back.. a lot of players in the league cant defend nor will try.. You cant expect him to create his own shot now but he will be able to do so from time to time.. this portland team needs help...whiteside is bigger bum and he is actually getting paid and you would expect him to do something there...

Threes or long twos? I would say Tolliver is a better 3pt shooter. He's also a much better defender/ rebounder.

Defense is tough to do in the NBA but it still counts... the top teams in the NBA play defense. It's why the Mavs are hovering around 500 in spite of Doncic magic, whereas the Rockets with PJ.Tucker/ Capela have won 8 in a row.

Last 5 mins of the game I would rather have washed up Melo in the team than Tolliver with game on the line though..you throw him the ball late in the shot clock he might get fouled or create decent shot even now.. Tolliver cant even get his shot off vs other small forward...

Blazers put the ball in the hands of Lillard or Mccollum. If Anthony is initiating your offense in crunch time you've got big problems. Blazers just need someone at the 4 to knock down the open shot when teh guards draw help.

Of course he’s going to be off and he still finished with 14/14

Here’s the short list of better NBA centers right now.

Whiteside lacks effort. He just stands there and watches opponents do layups. The Heat benched this guy for laziness. Nasher I am surprised you would defend him.

its a joke seeing guys blame Melo as if he was supposed to uplift this entire franchise. like they didn't suck before he got there 3 games ago. its time to start blaming the worst front office & management in the entire league. they made the conference finals last year and did absolutely nothing to build on that this offseason. instead their priority was to give Dame Lillard the biggest contract ever. ON THE FIRST DAY OF FREE AGENCY. how does that make your team better? they took the crumbs they had left over and picked up Hassan white side, Kent bazemore & Anthony Tolliver. shit is a joke. what a way to follow up a Western conference finals appearance. they had years Im talking YEARS to add one more piece next to Dame and CJ to really elevate this team. they never did anything. just sat around & hoped Dame would carry them to the promise land. my only question at this point is who is Portland trading? Dame or CJ? maybe little Dame will make a rap song requesting a trade and he'll clear that up for us.

What do you consider "blaming Melo"? I'm not seeing that. I think almost every comment just reflects that he's kind of washed up, not fit for today's game, and that it was dumb and pointless to sign him. I feel like everyone's on board with blaming the Blazers for another bad move

Who's really gonna blame Melo for being 35 with so many years under his belt, and he's unable to transform into a different player because the game has changed?
