The 4 teams will be conference winners this year. Can't see how Bama gets in with their weak schedule. Georgia, Oregon, Utah, Oklahoma, Baylor, Minnesota all these teams have to lose for Alabama to even have a chance.

Bama needs LSU to win out. OSU and Clemson winning out would also be helpful. A really good, decisive win over Auburn would be helpful as Oregon lost to them.


Bama's defense is good. Just not as good as they have been in previous years. But 6 of the 11 starters are FR. And depending on Davis' ankle and Dale's knee...could be more before it's all said and done. In 2 years, this defense may be downright nasty! In a good way.

No. Then after a few years ppl would want 16.

With a 4 teamer, the bowls are still relevant and big money makers. With an 8 teamer, the bowls are out and the college presidents wont be happy.

At most you'll see another 2 teams. A 6 teamer. Top 2 teams get a bye, other 4 teams play it off to see who faces 1 and 2

Not a good idea. You could end up with 3 teams from the same conference. SEC would have LSU, Georgia, Alabama if there was an 8 team playoff this year. Then these teams would be playing each other twice in the same season if they make it to championship game.

and not a good idea to make it the 5 conference champions mandatory either, because one or more of them could have 2 losses and not be deserving of entry. conferences have down years so not every conf champ is worthy every year.
