would be wild if they could get him in uniform in time for Sunday night and let him burn that Patriots secondary
one thing about Bill Bellichek is he is loyal to no one.
That heartless prick can coach though so I guess it’s a classic case of do you want to be nice or do you want to win football games.
when I first got into sales before I became successful a guy that took me under his wing said..
you know I don’t know if you are going to make it..
I said why?
he said b/c you are too nice.
He said “nice guys finish last”
he died unfortunately but I’ll never forget that conversation

but a) Bellichek doesn't just let a guy go if he thinks he has value, b) I don't think the guy will do well with all the drug temptations in Seatle, coupled with having to deal with a big life change of moving all the way across the country, and living in the depression/suicide capitol of the country.
I sure hope i'm wrong, rooting for Gordon here.

A certain Starting QB for the 49rs would beg to differ

Different situation.
Garroppolo wasn't necessary as long as Brady could play at a high level, and that's ignoring all the behind the scenes drama between Belichick, Brady and Kraft that led to the forced trade in the first place.
Gordon provides the Patriots something they desperately need, a downfield threat. So the fact they are willing let him go is very telling.
Garroppolo also doesn't have the history of drug and mental health issues

Gordon returned nothing
Jimmy G's trade created a cascape of moves that goes like this....
1. Patriots trade Garoppolo to Niners for 2018 No. 43 pick After that? 2. Patriots trade No. 43 to Detroit Lions for 2018 No. 51 and No. 117 picks 3. Patriots trade No. 51 to Chicago Bears for 2018 No. 105 pick and 2019 No. 56 pick 3. Patriots trade No. 105 to Cleveland Browns for 2018 No. 114 and No. 178 picks 4. Patriots trade No. 114 to Lions for 2019 No. 73 pick 5. Patriots draft LB Christian Sam with 2018 No. 178 pick 6. Patriots trade 2018 No. 62 (own pick) and No. 117 for No. 56 pick, draft CB Duke Dawson Deep breath. We're almost there. 7. Patriots trade 2019 No. 73 to Bears for No. 87, No. 162 and 2020 fourth-rounder 8. Patriots trade 2019 No. 56 and No. 101 (own pick) to the Los Angeles Rams for No. 45 pick, draft CB Joejuan Williams 9. Patriots draft RB Damien Harris with 2019 No. 87 pick 10. Patriots trade 2019 No. 97 (own pick) and No. 162 to Rams for No. 101 and No. 133, draft OT Yodny Cajuste and QB Jarrett Stidham
In total, New England made 10 moves that involved at least one asset originating from the Garoppolo trade, netting six players: CB Duke Dawson
LB Christian Sam
CB Joejuan Williams
RB Damien Harris
T Yodny Cajuste
QB Jarrett Stidham Oh, and the book still isn't closed on this trade, as the Patriots have the Bears' fourth-rounder in next year's draft. The jury is still out on all of these players, but if any go on to make significant contributions -- if, say, Stidham becomes Tom Brady heir apparent

right
but again the point was, that Bill Belichek had 2 years to fully get under the hood and run all the diagnostic tests instead of just kicking some tires.
27 other teams passed on him.
I think its definately worth taking a flyer on, especially for a competitive team that can take it to the next level if things pans out.
but its early to call it a great pickup, I think any team with the cap space, $, and scrub they could cut SHOULD have taken a chance on him, I think the odds are against it working out
but I guess other than the million dollars there is no downside since Dekoda Watson was the player they cut

Gordon is garbage..guy had the skills to be great but now on his way out of the league. You think if he had anything left the Patriots wouldn't of kept him..that offense is in big time need of a receiver who can stretch the field.

Josh Gordon will always be remembered as a very good WR when he was healthy and sober. Those days have passed. I hope he returns to form, but I honestly don’t see it. Teams should have went after E. Sanders like the 49ers did.

When Josh Gordon is working at Home Depot or Lowe's the light will come on that he NEVER made what the top elite WR's made ONCE during his career. Not once was he available or trusted enough to sign a 20 million dollar per year contract when talent said he should have. The store should put him in the wood cutting section with the dangerous equipment and circular saws so that he knows if he has a relapse that he will also possess nubs or be without a hand(s). That should make him walk the straight and narrow.

The NFL has reinstated Josh Gordon from his indefinite suspension, and he's eligible to play for the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16, a source confirmed to ESPN. First reported by Fox Sports.
