Woah woah woah. I’m as big of a Dantonio critic the past season and a half as anyone. But MSU as the second football school in the state?!?!

Michigan is a has-been. Most of their wins they hang their hat on are from the late 1800s and early 1900s, at home, against teams they had to teach the game to, WHEN YOU COULDN’T EVEN THROW A FORWARD PASS! Michigan has done NOTHING in the past 20 years.

MSU has 6 claimed national titles since 1950; Michigan has 1. MSU has 3 division titles this decade; Michigan 0. Dantonio is 8-4 against Michigan. Dantonio led the Spartans to 5 11-win seasons, 3 Big Ten Championships, won the last real Rose Bowl, and made a College Football Playoff.

Harbaugh is 1-10 vs top 10 teams, 1-7 on road vs. ranked teams, 0-8 as an underdog, 0-4 vs Ohio State.

DOMmer what i am saying is that michigan is the brand name in that state, football-wise. i am a big fan of what dantonio has done at michigan state but UM has the branding and they should theoretically get the better players most years in recruiting. their academic standards are higher than Mich St and that does not help, but in terms of football ranking from a brand standpoint, they are number one in the state.

during the 70's it was all about ohio state v michigan. i don't think mich state did all that much.

in the 80's i watched as george perles took sparty to a rose bowl w/ mccalister at QB and rison at WR. i think lorenzo white was the RB. that was a great team. but other than one really strong year under Saban, mich state really has not been a football power the last 40-50 years the way michigan has.

only one team can win the national title per year (split national titles notwithstanding) but michigan did split the title in 97 which was the last year pre BCS.

rose bowls are the best indicator of success between michigan and mich st because it has been the conf #1 or 2 each year and i think they have you beat in that category by a longshot

this has 24-13 written all over it. low scoring. mich st will do little against this penn state D. expect a close 1st quarter maybe even a full half, as Sparty is fired up. then penn state pulls away because they are better.

You're asking a shitt offense to put up points on a good D. Sparty very disappointing this year. Brought tons of starters back but crapped the bed at wisky and at osu. I'm not saying to win those games, but at least put up a fight

You’re right about Penn St. Michigan and Iowa are just too inept offensively to win those games. Penn State’s lousy second half against Michigan was eye opening. Penn State isn’t a threat. Just another pretender.
