Unreal Penalty - In Washington VS Oregon Game - Intentional Act To Deceive Opponent
    I never heard this before....

Oregon kicked off to Washington.... and Washington player was laying in the end zone.... on the other side of field. Kick returner threw over to him... like a lateral.... and took it to the 46 yard line... great play.

An official threw the flag..... 15 yard penalty... Intentional Act To Deceive Opponent.

    Are you fukking kidding me?

Isn't the entire reason to play football... is to disguise plays to beat your opponent??? What am I missing here?

Can’t lay down in the end zone to hide from the opponent. I agree it’s strange and I didn’t know it was a rule until I saw it happen but it sorta makes sense that you can’t lay down in a purple jersey in a purple end zone. Unfair advantage for the home team. Either way, rules a rule I suppose

I've seen that play even in high school. Not sure why it's a penalty? The player is on the field. The defense should expect something fishy if it looks like there's only 10 guys on the field. Another play use to have a guy hiding on the far sideline. Defense don't recognize it and he goes wide open for a TD pass.

i wonder if you can still stand on sidelines and pretend you are talking to the coach, and then get wide open for a pass... i always liked that one.

Kansas did it years ago with all blue

Must have made it a rule after that.

I totally disagree with this rule. If you want to be a jerk off and sit in the end zone... be my guest. A lot can go wrong on that play.... just as much as it can go right. The guy can screw up and lateral it wrong.... miss his teammate... it's a part of football.

What about when teams line up to FAKE A SPIKE? (TO STOP THE CLOCK) That's considered deceiving your opponent. You lined up like you were going to spike it... some QB's fake the throw into the ground just after handing the ball off.

Ridiculous rule. It's your team colors.... everything is under NCAA code. Total bullsh#$.
