I disagree, as long as you have the staples for success. You need a franchise qb with some weapons and an oline that can protect the qb. And then a competent defense that will give the offense enough possessions to compete. After that, it's all coaching (play calling and gameplanning).

Mack Brown doing what he was told. Last play call absolutely laughable.

        That 2 point try?
You can argue both sides of the coin.
I can’t speak for Brown but I think he liked his chances of winning with one play from the 3 yard line then taking the worlds #1 team to overtime.

I didn’t love the call but didn’t hate it either.

I didn't watch any of the Clemson game but I like the theory behind the call. You're right that Clemson would be highly favored in ot, so going for two is your best chance of winning. I also won a huge parlay thanks to TCU going for 2 and converting to win a game a long time ago, so I'm biased towards that call.

A game not lost is equally valuable as a game won.

Play calling hasnt advanced much...all teams have pretty much same knowledge. Case in point, coaches n assistants switch teams often.

No sorry. What are the odds of hitting the extra point? 80%.

                  The two point play 43%?

My numbers might be not correct exactly but you take the extra point. If the guy misses that you can't be blamed.

the two point play wouldn't have won game. Still one minute left, Clemson still had timeout . Terrible call

I knew UNC was going for two on the drive. Unless you have a play you have never run before or a special play for that situation, always kick the extra point. I would have preferred the Philly special or bunch receiver set if you must go for 2, but Don't run a regular play when you have to have those 3 yards.
