Thompson even admitted he lied about his drug use and drinking. He wouldn't have written anything with that daily routine

Read the book by his son Juan Thompson or his first wife Sandy. They pretty much say most everything that people want to believe about HST wasn’t true it was mostly a act. The drinking part was true he was a full blown alcoholic and in his later years he couldn’t even control his bladder and bowels from alcoholism. His best books were Hells Angels a Strange and Terrible Saga and Fear and Loathing on The Campaign Trail 1972, those books were real life events, not gonzo journalism, which is entertaining but far from reality JMO
