they lost to BC..BC got curb stomped at home by 20+ to Kansas.

VT won by only 14 at home vs Citadel.

VT won by only 7 at home vs Furman.

That has been the story at VT in HC Justin Fuente's tenure there. They have underachieved and had many losses and close games against teams that they used to blow out of the water. The program just isn't very good currently.

Isn't the Citadel the same team that beat Georgia Tech? The truth of the matter is simple. Clemson is by far and away the best team in the ACC. Virginia is a distant second. The rest of the ACC is just terrible. Wagering on any ACC team other than Clemson is nothing more than a crap shoot.

Penn State should easily handle a Maryland team who lost to Temple. A loss by Penn State eliminates any chance they have of going to the Playoffs. As long as the line remains under -7 (it is -6 1/2 now), Penn State is a solid wager.
