The only thing Malzahn could have been thinking (thinking is a big stretch, I know) is he's worried about a 2-point runback to make it 26-23, then Oregon could tie with a FG. But with 9 seconds left, near impossible. Second, just run the FB into the line and don't risk a throw.

Made no sense. Damn near cost them the win. The Oregon kickoff returner was one ankle tackle away from breaking it at the end.

I have another theory even though it’s dumb too. They thought the penalty was on the point after making a 2 point conversion almost impossible. Oregon kicker is bad too, so maybe he thought go up 6 maybe he would miss the pat if it came to that
