Tests show he was drunk as penetrate and on serious opioids fetanyl and oxy codone being 2 of them.

Not necessarily. It certainly possible to get H that they cut w finny and that kills ppl often but didn’t see heroin in tox report so that prob not it.,
25x the lethal dose is misleading. You build a tolerance and can do enough to kill a horse just to get high., lol.
Several things could have caused. One of the biggest reason for od’s is guys get off it then when they relapse they don’t realize their tolerance has dropped significantly and boom, what used to be normal for them kills them. Those always sad cause obviously it was a guy trying to get clean and just slipped up. I’ve had lot of friends die this way. This a decent guess and would explain the oxy, he was prob staying away from the finny but using oxy just to feel normal.
Another reason depends how he was doing. I’m speculating but assuming he probably didn’t shoot it up. Good move for lot of reasons but snorting it can cause you to not know exactly how much you ingesting or how rapidly opposed to needle where you know the dose and delivery is instant., could have simply gotten some more potent shit and snorted same amount he was used to, add the booze and potentially oxy and that could do it.,Comment -

A public relations employee for the Los Angeles Angels told federal investigators that he provided oxycodone to Tyler Skaggs and abused it with him for years, and that two team officials were told about Skaggs' drug use long before his death, according to two sources familiar with the investigation.
Eric Kay, the Angels' director of communications, also gave U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents the names of five other players who he believed were using opiates while they were Angels, the sources said.
Kay's attorney, Michael Molfetta, reached late Friday, confirmed the details of Kay's statements, given in separate meetings with DEA agents in Dallas and Los Angeles in late September.
Skaggs died in a Southlake, Texas, hotel room on July 1 from choking on his own vomit, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office. He was 27. Skaggs' autopsy, released Aug. 30, found evidence of fentanyl, oxycodone and alcohol in his system. Outside the Lines reported on Sept. 18 that the DEA had begun an investigation into the source of the fentanyl.
Kay told investigators he illegally obtained six oxycodone pills and gave three to Skaggs a day or two before the team left California for the road trip to Texas, according to the two sources. Kay told DEA agents he does not think the pills he obtained for Skaggs were the same ones the pitcher took the day he died because Skaggs typically would ingest the pills immediately after receiving them from Kay, the sources said. Skaggs also texted Kay the day the team left for Texas seeking more oxycodone, a request Kay told investigators he was unable to fulfill, the sources said.Comment -

Former Angels employee Eric Kay has been charged by federal authorities in Texas with distributing fentanyl in connection with the overdose death of pitcher Tyler Skaggs, according to court documents reviewed by The Times.
A toxicology report by the Tarrant County medical examiner found the opioids fentanyl and oxycodone in his system. The medical examiner listed the cause of death as “alcohol, fentanyl and oxycodone intoxication with terminal aspiration of gastric contents,” meaning he choked on his vomit.
“It was later determined that but for the fentanyl in [Skaggs’] system, [Skaggs] would not have died,” an affidavit in support of the criminal complaint against Kay said.Comment -
