Betting against Djokovic returns 75% profit
I am wondering why his odds are so low to win the tournament, considering he seems to be clearly bothered by an injury.

Djokovic confirms he was on the verge of retiring: "The way it has started for me, especially midway through the first set, I didn't know if I would be able to finish the match. I'm really glad I have. I'm hoping that in two days' time I will be able to play pain-free." #USOpen (Twitter)

Seems like there is value to bet for the field to win the US Open.

Betting market thinks the guy is superman?

And injury aside, draw is quite tough with Wawrinka and Medvedev next (if everything goes well for them). And I mean, if Djokovic cannot serve properly, no way Nadal (or even Kyrgios) cannot take advantage of it in the final. Margins are small at the top.

To bet against Djokovic you need Betfair or Matchbook, but possibly some bookmakers offer this kind of bet too.

edit: I read the Tweet from this thread https://www.menstennisforums.com/2-g...4-76-61-a.html read the whole discussion thread. Was lucky to face Londero today.

Sounds good, he's probably at 20% to win the tournament. If he decided to withdraw right now would we get paid on betfair? That would really be free money.

He is extremely reliable, but this is starting to look like Wimbledon 2017 when he retired in the quarters against Berdych.

                You get paid.

The easiest bet in my life was to Lay Andy Murray at Washington, not sure if you remember the match against Copil when Murray cried after winning? https://youtu.be/V12NJGYOQuQ?t=1

Watched the match live, placed a Lay bet immediately after he beat Copil. And he pulled out next day before playing De Minaur.

I am surprised at the lack of reaction from the betting market, Djokovic said he almost retired against freaking Londero, yet still a big fav to win the event.

Bet on him at each round on a bookie that refunds bets when a player retires.

Honestly only way I’ll bet him is we get into the qrtrs/semi:final and he up against someone good enough I can get fairly cheap price. I think I got him around -130 to win Wimbledon around the qrtrs finals so I took it. Havnt even looked at this tourney yet, I’ll prob just wait till he makes it thru this week, seems healthy and hope he gets matchups w nadal and fed,.

Quite a few bets to be settled on future markets in this US Open so no play for me until next week.

But looks like Struff has a decent shot to beat Isner.

The market is actually reacting, just surprised it took so long, Djokovic from 2.4 to 2.8 on Betfair within a few hours.

My initial prediction was Medvedev to make the final, but he was cramping yesterday, so I'll pick Wawrinka.

Garbage New York crowd to boo him when he was obviously injured. I hope the skinny western villain wins the tournament just to stick it in their face.
