the line opened at 7 or 7.5 at most shops...within the last week it has moved 4 points to South Carolina (-11)...what gives?...injuries?...suspensions?

#8Not sure here. The early season stacking forecast has a 2 point game, and that line moved away for sure.
Don't know what happened but it's only week 1, so let's get some data behind us and some games under our belt before jumping to any conclusions. Those are my thoughts here and perhaps it's a situation with these two teams that we'll monitor into next week.

#9Not even close. This game is drawing NO public attention. That is prob sharp money. I would be careful.Originally posted by Da Manster!yes, but everyone and their mother putting money on the Gamecocks...the line jumped from (-7) to (-11) in South Carolina's favor.Comment -

#10Damn. That a pretty big difference. Is that typical for the stacking forecast?Originally posted by KVBNot sure here. The early season stacking forecast has a 2 point game, and that line moved away for sure.

#11I sort of agree here, there's a lot of trading going on the market that I don't normally attribute to the "public" with the exception of some steam.Originally posted by KiDBaZkiTNot even close. This game is drawing NO public attention. That is prob sharp money. I would be careful.
But that trading had been going both ways.Comment -

#13Early season so not carrying too much weight, a lot of the other forecasts seem to be closer to the lines and openers, but not reading too much into this one.Originally posted by 2daBankDamn. That a pretty big difference. Is that typical for the stacking forecast?
At the 7 point open it wasn't as far off, but it sure as hell did move away from us.
We need about 4 games under our belts before we really start giving that forecast some authority, though it does seem to be able hang early season.

#14It was a gradual line move so doesn't seem like injury or eligibility info changes
How about S Carolina and Texas A&M both playing Clemson and Alabama this year

#15This is nothing new for a week 1 game. Many teams have big line movements. Michigan went from -29 1/2 to -34 1/2 vs Middle Tennessee State. Changes of 3 or more points are not that uncommon for week 1. That is because the lines have been posted for a long time. Next week will be different, when the lines for week 2 come down on Sunday, just 6 days before most of the games will be played.Comment -
