It is that time of year down there. As of now, it is unlikely that it reaches the Florida Coast by Saturday, but the weather still could be rainy. If it spins off the Florida Coast and back into the Gulf, it can really make life miserable for the week 2 games. Now you are looking at a potential cat 3-5 hitting somewhere along the Gulf Coast.

Why do they schedule games down there in Aug and Sept? Each of these contests could be played up north or in a off week setting in Nov

Where are you getting this info? The hurricane map is very misleading. The amount of dry air that is being injected into this storm gives it nearly no chance of development into a stronger storm. It may not even make it to Florida... and no one here is sounding any alarms at all. There might be something developing in the Gulf next week, but this tropical storm is NO THREAT to the SE United States.

A pretty calm hurricane season up till now, no?
I was considering becoming a South Floridian. I know the heat and humidity are extreme, but staying in the shade and AC will obviously work.
What's concerning for a handicapper is (IMO) power outages from the hurricanes.
If one records internet data on a daily basis for his handicapping, it would be a severe setback to have no internet for 3 or 4 days due to a storm.
Are there any South Floridians who have experienced this? It's hard enough to keep up with things on a daily basis. To have to backlog 4 days of sports betting data due to an outage might be too much to accomplish.
If I may ask: What's the average "power outage" time for the average South Floridian?

Really? Explain to me how Ga. Tech vs Clemson can be played up north? What about East Carolina, NC State? Miss. State vs La. Lafayette? Just how many teams scheduled to play each other in September do you think have off weeks in the same week in November? Why don't they schedule a worthless Big 10 team like Minnesota to play Iowa, or Northwestern, or Wisconsin in September or down South in November. What a dumb post, but we all have come to expect this from you.

heres the major storm models. It will likely strengthen over the Bahamas. Agree about only using the nhc. It can be misleading

I guess the Gators could play Tn Martin in Tennessee but there stadium holds like 5,000 people vs the 90,000 at Ben Hill Griffin.

Whatever games get played I’m taking the under. I did the same thing like 3 years ago when that hurricane hit the Carolinas.
