Interesting point and notion, but to dispel some myths it really isn't true.

There are many ways to handicap and don't assume pros are using some partial Kelly on preseason...and don't assume they aren't.

My point is that there is a viable way to approach the preseason and all this talk that there isn't really does miss the mark when it comes to a certain population of bettors. It may or may not include some regression.
