H.S. In Which Enrolls 1000+ Kids, Over 50% Minorities, Can't Fill JV Football Team
This is one of the most absurd things I ever heard of. Too many kids not into sports anymore. Rather smoke weed and do drugs.

Team only had 11 Freshmen, Sophomores who signed up to play.

Forfeited entire season.... before it even started.

WTF is going on in the world today?

high school coaches are to blame. they push them too hard so they will be successful (the coach that is) so they can get college job. they try to emulate the toughest nfl coaches by running them into the ground. seven day a week practices. yelling and discipline. kids don't care. they'd be willing to play if there were just light practices once or twice a week. football practice is a grind. almost cruel what they try to do to these kids.

          Michigan.... Detroit Metro Area.

Varsity Coach said he needs 32 (minimum) students to play.....

          Which leaves 11 for JV.

I correct myself.... perhaps it wasn't 11 kids total for JV... He just bumped players to fill Varsity Team.

Regardless.... 43 kids out of 1000+ to play football? Under 4.5% of student population????

          My goodness.

Remember... this is Freshman Team, JV Team, Varsity Team.... combined.

Football causes brain damage. Linked below is yet another study confirming this. Parents and students are understanding that playing the game is a terrible risk with scant reward.

              Link to study.

From the study: "The results were striking. Although only two of the 38 players received a concussion, more than two-thirds of them showed changes to the integrity of the white matter of their midbrains... the changes in the midbrain were correlated with increased levels of tau protein in those individuals’ bloodstreams. The protein, which indicates brain cell damage, is linked to chronic traumatic encephalopathy."

ppl dont really play football because it is fun. they play it to be popular. practice isnt fun and its 20+ hours a week. starters get to play in an actual game around an hour a week. now with everyone concerned about head injuries, if your team is crap then there is not much incentive to play if you arent going to even start.

i probably wouldnt play high school football again if i went back in time. i made some friends but i dont think it was worth it for all the time spent practicing. my team was 5-5 both years that i started.

                    They don't want to practice

They don't want to have a guy yell at them

They don't listen or take orders because they have no father at home

                    Many cannot afford the sport
