Dallas would be smart to just play out the season and not offer him anything. After a mediocre season he won't be worth 15 million/year and if he doesn't sign franchise him or let him go and draft another QB or get a free agent. With the talent the Cowboys have a lot of QB's would have success there.

what has he done.... at the time when they paid him. oh, went to the playoffs first 3 years with subpar squads coming off an ERA coming to a complete halt in 2011. with a terrible GM. bunch of different offensive coaches. terrible decision making by Pagano when it came to "when to go for it on 4th downs" "what plays to use in those situations" "the worst trick plays in history" etc etc etc...terrible protection while taking massive hits first 4 years till he finally succumbed to an injury he couldn't play thru. throwing for 40 TD his 3rd year and dragging that terrible roster to a conference title game. lol

There not that many teams desperate for a qb anymore, these college kids are coming in and having success right away. No chance someone pays him more than 30 mil per. They don’t have to pay him shit, let him play out this contract then franchise him the following year.
