He should be grandfathered in and able to use his helmet of choice. As MLB did w the ear flap and NHL did w helmets and later face plates

I'd image a helmet and the sight lines are a very important feature for an NFL wideout

He probably has a deal with the manufacturer on sponsorship so if the helmet is banned he loses the sponsorship.

his deal is it's a certain hypocrisy from the nfl pretending all of a sudden they care so much about safety. saying a helmet that is 10 years old in production can't protect you any more. why can't it just be modified? like the pic above they once played in leather helmets. ultimatum may be silly, but raiders are 30 mil on the books whether he plays or not so there is some pressure there. all he really cares about is the style to not obstruct his vision. if this was any other league not obsessed with complete control, they would modify the helmet. as childish as he may seem, the league is equally as well by not allowing a simple modification.
