Former Super Bowl winner Mitch Petrus dies of heat stroke

Former NFL star Mitch Petrus has died of suspected heat stroke aged just 32.The offensive lineman who played for the New York Giants, New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans fell ill after working outside all day at his family's business in Little Rock, Arkansas.After being after being taken to Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock, Petrus died later that evening according to county coroner Gerone Hobbs.Petrus attended Arkansas University and was named in the All-SEC first team in 2009. He was drafted by the Giants in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft and went to feature in their Super Bowl XLVI victory over the New England Patriots.

Just a heads up to all the guys getting older now....

This is the first year of my life in which the heat has taken it's toll on me. Never in my prior years has it ever bothered me...

It's one of the oddest sickest feelings when you're becoming dehydrated. And once you're at that tipping point... you basically need an IV immediately. Listen to your body....

I'm a bigger guy and play tennis in FL, even in summer. There are nights that I'll lose 7-8.5 pounds in pure water weight. I'm know to take a sodium tablet, a one a day, and water up!!! Unfortunately some if the guys I play with get the neanderthal mentality that they're gonna be tough guys and not take time to recoup.

Lost one at Cape Raquet club in 2018, a second at Ft Myers raquet and a 3rd dude passed out this past Feb in one of my matches and it wasn't even 85 degrees out.
