#37as sportsbetting expands across the USA the need to go to Vegas for sportsbetting will greatly be reduced
Why throw all that money away when you have in in your own state and do not have to go to trashy Vegas??Comment -

#38The only people that still visit Vegas in five years will be extremely wealthy people who dont look at the price of hotel rooms and all the BS add ons they get you for, or the very poor that have no problem staying at Circus Circus and will take their chances they dont get stabbed walking down the hallway of their hotel room. i fall in the middle. I stayed in the nicer hotels, but also looked at my hotel bill. I will probably never go badk the rest of my life.Comment -

It does take the fun out of the trip and when you miss the challenge of winning and being stuck with having to go back home, closer to being broke, and also, while there, yet to find that evasive[again], 3 dollar steak/egg breakfast. This is the 4th time in a row that this breakfast didn't happen.
What the hell changed all this?
Tell me where I can go for better entertainment, better food for the buck, and not have the feeling I am being picked to the bone?
Costa Rica? Paris? Acapulco? The Netherlands?
What happened to our blue-collar dreams?Comment -

#40Boy, that's an eyeopening, depressing view. The truth? Yes, very likely for us, still not rich fellows.

What happened to our blue-collar dreams?Might be the funniest thing i have ever heard. The entire existence of Las Vegas is based on them leeching every dollar from tourists. Im not talking about the gambling part. Thats a given. People want to gamble, fine. Thats entertainment. All the other BS is sickening. Ten dollar bottle of water. $40 resort fee nightly. Parking. Its a joke.

You can get a fully serviced hut, with a cook, on the beach in parts of Indonesia for 300-400 US$ a month. Vietnam is also cheap and sounds interesting to me too..Comment -

#44Surely Europe would suit you best. Czech Republic is supposed to be amazingly different, cheap, and friendly with English speakers.

I will study that over.
The catch?
I actually checked a possible European flight 2 months ago. $3500, I do believe.
Shoot, I may as well get a cheap'ie room in Vegas and try to win $3000, rather than having to cough up the crazy fee right off the bat?
What a dilemma.
* I will look at those flights again.Comment -

My last return flight Sydney to Vegas wasn't much over $1000. Including paid for upgrades to premium economy with more legroom.
If we do an East Coast bash sometime, instead of a return ticket (25 hours each way) I'll get a round the world ticket for about $1300 and go Syd>LA>NY>London>Macau>Sydney. to break it all up a bit, and see a couple of extra new places..Comment -

#49It's beginning to get interesting to me
This is going to be big. I am confidant of it now that I have studied the situation closer.
These young college-aged kid's are always looking to party, seek companionship, buy the booze and mingle with the noisy crowds, while listening to blaring music, so this likely will be the biggest attraction, along with the biggest money maker, I do now believe.
In fact, I may scrape up a few thousand [few] and find a way to invest in Circa's future, in Las Vegas.
* If sports fans are interested you may get [ live] a video cam coming from that Circa location.
I am viewing it right now and the cam coverage seems cover a whole city block.
History in the making, minute by minute, brick by brick.

#54Yes, but Vegas was nothing until some entrepreneur used some intelligent insight, built there first and made a mint.
People love entertainment and bright lights. We all need to release the tough built-up pressures of this ever changing world.
Mostly, the college grads and blue-collars of all ages.
If it's new and shiny, they will come in hordes, like salmon swimming up stream. Both, having desperate, out of control impulses.
Wait and see.Comment -

This guy probably uses a dollar bill to lite his cigarettes if he can afford $88 bucks for parking in ONE day?. We blue-collars will not pay much for parking, we scan the area for parking bargains or walk for a few blocks to save on our gambling kitty.Comment -
