Anyone else think the Padres rake today? Not sure if it results in a win but they play at sprawling Petco Park. Machado has shown better numbers on the road. This might be like one of those Padres Rockies games earlier in the year. Still waiting on the lineup to be posted....

Translation 1: Petco Park is a big ballpark where baseball is played. Wind will be blowing out at Wrigley today. Padres will hit fly balls that will end up in the seats.

Translation 2: Manny Machado has much better numbers on the road if you look at his splits on fangraphs. He absolutely destroyed the cover off the ball when the Padres played the Rockies at Coors Field, which is a hitters friendly ballpark.

Translation 3: A Lineup is a teams posted batting order. Typically posted on Twitter a few hours before game time. It can be a great resource if you are betting baseball games. You want to make sure the heavy hitters are in the lineup and not taking a day off.

Also the term “rake” means “hit well” when used in a baseball context. If you need further information, please let me know.

Again, teams that play in big ballparks like the Diamondbacks, Giants, and Padres will produce much better numbers when they visit hitter friendly ballparks like Coors Field, Citizens Bank Parks, or wind blowing out at Wrigley. If you need more info to back this up just google San Francisco Giants and look at their series against the Rockies.

I don't think he did. When he said "they play at sprawling Petco Park", it sounds like he meant they were going from a spacious park to a hitter's park. The rest of his paragraph after that seems to reinforce it.
