Everything between the genders must be equal all the time. If 9% of men get terminal cancer and only 7% of women than we must find a way to get the disease to cancer free women to make it equal.

Also, right now women get testicular cancer at a rate of zero, this is just unfair, especially when men can get breast cancer.

Men's tennis tickets are higher priced, the men sell more tickets, and men's tennis draws higher TV ratings. And they play 5 sets. And they're way better at tennis then women are. That about covers it.

this is a great point. compare crowds of ATP tourneys to WTA ones to defy level of attention . Grand Slams are merged crowd

I'm not opposed to equal work for equal pay....However.

Are the women generating the same revenue as the men? The model here is clearly money made by the sport/venue/etc via ad revenue and other streams.

If somebody can show me the women generate the same revenue as men for doing the same thing, pay them the same.

I'm not going to pay somebody the same for generating less revenue just because of their genitals. Equal pay for Equal work means just that.

Womens tennis outside of a Serena final is worthless

Went to 15 US Open

Mens round of 32 was selling out in some cases and lower level tix were reselling for 10xs face value for big 4 at the time

Serena lost in the semis. I got a USOpen womens final, lower level 10th row ticket, for $40

The stadium was 75% empty as are nearly all non Serena WTA matches

I'm not sure how the WTA earns money...but the event organizers pair the mens ticket w a ladies ticket for a daily pass. Without that pairing nobody would buy a womans ticket.

Like preseason fix for nfl. They're free w your season tix...otherwise who'd buy em.

Men’s purse for a 250 event is $90k while a women’s 250 is $40k

Depends on viewership and how much they bring in? I don’t know if woman draw the same as the men or not? If they get similar ratings, crowds, produce same amount of money then absolutely.

Pretty simple math w pro sports. The WNBA broads should get very little cause they don’t earn. Nobody cares about the lpga so they shouldn’t make squat. I assume the USA soccer broads get every bit the ratings if not more than the men, and they actually win so they should prob get more. I don’t know whether tennis women get the ratings and bring in the money the men do or not but that is the answer to the question. If yes than of course they should make same, if no then not.

compared salaries for NBA and WNBA and I was suprised how big is the gap. However tennis should be closer , they are bringing some attention.

Wasnt the NBA financing the WNBA inorder to stay afloat. Im fine with men and women making the same in Tennis,if they are both contributing around the same.

No I don't think they should. Women always make less then men in sports so I see no difference in a tennis Grand Slam.
