Serena's serve is far better than Halep's and Halep isn't the same player on grass, she's always been much better on clay, there is a report that Serena was training obsessively since she wants the record at wimbledon, Halep has choked in the final round before too.

You might be right, I’m sure you know more about and follow tennis way more than I do. I just don’t like the “easy path” argument against. You beat the ppl put in front of you. Never understood why the fact her draw was easier matters in this match?

I just mentioned it because I think Serena's odds are a bit skewed based on the results thus far. She hasn't really faced a tough opponent yet. I'm not sure she would have gotten to this point if she faced tougher opponents. She's not the Serena of old. Still very good, but in my opinion, not as good as Halep. I just think the value is with Halep. Serena could very well win, for sure, but I think Halep +160 is a good play based on those odds, her play, and her talent.

i agree, you can't control who wins or loses other matches. Just focus on your own and move on......

HOWEVER.....

playing a better player long term prepares you for another great player.

Her serve is still massive but her mobility scares me....too much limping between points too

Can see a mental breakdown midway thru second set

That said, Halep needs to play good defense and get depth on her shots, and Halep did both incredibly well last 2 rounds

The top players always take their game to another level when you get deep in the tournament, the value is likely with Serena because she hasn't looked that great until the last match in the semifinal. Halep is a good player but she can't serve her way out of trouble the way Serena can.
