Game is now off the board everywhere as far as I can tell, probably won't be up until morning.

Were the home runs all cheapys?
Seemed like terrible pitching and good hitting had more to do with the 30 runs today than the ballpark.

Normally games with no overnight lines go up between 9-10 AM ET, but this one STARTS at 10 AM ET so no idea when line will go up.

Don’t think the stadium had much to do with it at all. Pitchers didn’t adjust well to the travel, while the hitters did for some reason.

Saturday's results looked more like a Thursday night football game final score than an afternoon baseball game.

juice moved to the under @ carbon (-120). what do you think closing line will be? There is a ton of foul ground in play for some cheap outs on foul balls. E-rod is not that bad..only 3 hitters on NY that have a BA over .300 vs him. NY using an opener that will likely only pitch 1 inning. my main worry is the bullpens were taxed in game 1....plus Sox bullpen has been awful. wind not really a factor based on stadium design. temp suppose to be a mild 72 degrees. my guess is the o/u line closes @ 14.

Back in the days before they blocked the wind that created a jet steam effect at ranger stadium there were some pretty high numbers that got steamed up to around that number a few times I think. Don’t really recall if they got that high or not, wanna say yes but my memory not that good, lol. You would see some stupid high scores tho.

A ton of foul ground? So what?
I saw foul balls yesterday that stayed in play but couldn't be caught because of the vast distance needed to reach them. Also, how many foul outs does a game usually have? It can't be many. So what I'm saying is that foul outs are not a factor in this game. Plus in that stadium foul balls hit high enough will hit the overhead and become dead immediately.
The biggest factor is obvious, its the small field so fly balls that might be caught deep in the outfield end up in the stands.
The books aren't stupid and 16 still seems low to me considering today's game could look like batting practice again.

Absolutely the stadium had much to do with it. Pitchers didn't adjust well to the travel? If so you think 24 hours makes a difference today?

Yeah its nuts to think otherwise. Combo of the lighting (sun) white seats, fast turf (new), size of the field and the breaking ball not working I think its safe to say the stadium/location is a factor.
Some guys still refuse to believe what they are seeing and take advantage of it . I'm not one of them.

Hope it gets there, I’m on over too. Not so sure we gonna?
I was little worried about the extra foul territory but from what I’ve seen guys not getting to that extra space.

Yeah this would have been a factor if the players were positioned in foul territory but the way the game has been played so far foul balls can't be tracked down because of the distance. So a ton of foul ground is only one part of the equation.
Over still looking good IMO.

MLB comish is a total goober. trying to claim as if the ball is not intentionally juiced for more offense. he was really exposed for the jerk he is on Lebatard show a few years ago in regards to the sale of the Marlins. not to mention that refuses to mandate extending the netting at all ball parks after a lil girl almost died from foul ball.

I disagree about the netting, if you down there and have kids you need to protect them, better yet don’t allow kids of a certain age in those seats. When I pay to sit there I want foul balls and don’t want netting obstructing my view!! It a shame ppl get hurt occasionally but if you sit in those areas you should pay attention!! Especially if you have kids!!
Agree he is a jerkoff tho. And this whole 3 batter minimum for relief pitchers is fukkin stupid and is gonna screw up some outcomes. Unreal these dinosaurs unwilling to change so many things but gonna botch this all up!!

i sympathize w/that as well, but to do nothing is pathetic. there should be a height requirement...like they use at amusement parks to ride a roller coaster. cell phones should be banned during play also...only allowed between innings.

Agree, im good w that or other possible solutions. Just not netting. It always amazes me when I go how many ppl you see not paying attention, that fine but then pick different seats!! Gotta keep your head on a swivel in certain seats.
