surely there must be a lowest electronically timed 40 ever.... i've just seen anecdotal evidence of what a top sprinter could do. ben johnson, canada's disgraced sprinter, would have been awesome as he always jumped to huge lead over carl lewis and then lewis caught up the rest of the race (i think bolt catches up to field for first 60 meters of 100 metre race)

and reference to fastest 40's that people take semi-seriously is 4.12. bo jackson at auburn is one of the 4.12 runs.

i would have thought puma/nike/etc. would be all over this. achieving a sub-4.0 40, like nike working hard on sub-2-hour marathon.

goodwin (godwin) is interesting to fade. not that young and his event was long jump, not sprints. definitely was elite HS and college sprinter though
