American League home run leader Edwin Encarnacion to the New York Yankees
Sources: Yanks adding AL HR leader Encarnacion

    7:43 PM PT
The Seattle Mariners have traded American League home run leader Edwin Encarnacion to the New York Yankees, sources familiar with the deal told ESPN's Jeff Passan
The Mariners are including significant money on Encarnacion's contract, which includes a $20 million club option with a $5 million buyout for the 2020 season, sources said. In exchange, the Yankees will send minor league pitcher Juan Then, a 6-foot-1 right-hander from the Dominican Republic, to Seattle. The Yankees had acquired Then, 19, from the Mariners in 2017.

The Yankees are winning because they have guys that keep the ball in play unlike judge and Stanton and other strike out players

Homeruns do not win so easy to shut those guys down

The rich get richer. Only a matter of time before the yanks get Lindor from the Indians. Small market teams are fukked in MLB.

They all got plenty money to pay their stars, greedy fukks rather pocket it.

this. a consistent rotation is what's been holding them back.

The Yankees have declined their 2020 club option for 1B/DH Edwin Encarnación.
