#141He’d have a rough time with Thiem as well, along with some other guys right now. Maybe not as much in his prime. But I think Thiem would push him around, too.Comment -

#147Either of these guys will give Nadal a good match, but I do agree that if Thiem plays to his potential (which he didn’t last year), he can beat Nadal. I think he was intimidated and overwhelmed in the moment last year. This year he wouldn’t be.Originally posted by jjgoldNadal toughest match will be Thiem if he wins

one year, Fed lost the final set 6-0, it think it was 07 or 08. he ABSOLUTELY quit in that final set that year. it was obvious. if Fed ever gets bagled in a set, especially in a final at a slam, then he absolutely quitComment -

#159Is quitting what you call it when one player is that much better than you on a surface? Geez....just give credit to Rafa. #160Nadal is playing great but he's had an easy path too, there is a reason Federer hasn't played the French open the last several years, its a very tough surface on older players.Comment -

#162back in 07 or 08 in the french final, Fed lost the last set 6-0. he quit that day. trust me. i have been watching him play since he beat Sampras at Wimbledon in 2001 or so. i know his body language. he RARELY quits but that french sometimes he has quit in the final stanza when Rafa was up 2-0 in sets or 2-1. He has. trust me man. he does not get bagled in a set unless he has quit.Originally posted by navyblue81Is quitting what you call it when one player is that much better than you on a surface? #163Well when you realize you brought everything you got and you are still getting stampeded, I guess that’s what happens sometimes. You just throw your hands up, concede and go through the motions. While it’s not right to quit, I can see how it can happen against Nadal in the later stages of a match.Originally posted by homie1975back in 07 or 08 in the french final, Fed lost the last set 6-0. he quit that day. trust me. i have been watching him play since he beat Sampras at Wimbledon in 2001 or so. i know his body language. he RARELY quits but that french sometimes he has quit in the final stanza when Rafa was up 2-0 in sets or 2-1. Runner-up: Roger Federer
Champion: Rafael Nadal
Final score: 6–1, 6–3, 6–0
This after Fed had lost in final in 05, 06, and 07 at the french. in 08 he gets run out 1 and 3 in the first two sets and just quit in that third set.

#166Nadal has benefited from playing in the first wave. Sunday will be his third match in 6 days. Not to mention he didn’t break a sweat in any set. Compare that to Thiem/Djoker who will be playing four straight days, and who knows what toll this match will play on them when all is said and done. So no matter who Rafa faces, he’s going to be by and away more fresh.Comment -
