Indeed, where did you find +2000 wow! I got +1200 in SBR Book (which I bet for the max), and I thought that was a fantastic price (at least at the time I got it) since 5 Dimes was in the +1000 to +1100 range at the time, and they often have the best odds on long-shots.

But sad thing is, when the bet loses (as it did for both of us), getting a great price doesn't end up mattering haha. Ahh well, there will be others!

This contest is not really fair. Withdrawn players are just replaced with other players. Kvitova did not play, so Juvan took her place in the draw. Obviously I wouldn't have selected Juvan to go far, as opposed to Kvitova, but now all I see in red is Juvan, Juvan, Juvan.

Yes 500 is the max I believe. Ok, I bet it a few weeks ago so no wonder the line I got was quite different! The bet definitely stands if a player retires during a match. If they withdraw before even playing the first match, then I'm not quite sure.

Then I realized. Unfortunate as I said, but what else can they do? And it affects each participant in the same way so hard to really claim it's "unfair". Just one of those random things in sports which sometimes works in your favor (if you had her losing early) and sometimes against you (if you had her going very deep). Gotta roll with the punches!

Not to mention those who bet on someone else to win it all inherently have their chances improved as a result so that helps them also. On the whole, obviously hurts some bets, helps some others, but don't see why it's inherently good for the book.

For the purpose of the contest, those matches should not count. Like, Cirstea vs Juvan. But of course if there is a withdrawal in one of the later rounds, then it should count, just like a mid-match retirement would.
