How do you check if your bet won when you have a big stake and don't want to watch
Option 1: Google the result. Don't like it for some reason.

Option 2: login to the sportsbook to check the balance. My favorite, very straightforward or brutal.

Option 3: find highlight on YouTube. Too much stress.

Option 4: read the inplay threads here. I had 4 figures on the rockets and that is what I did. Got me scared until reading the last page. Like this option for some reason.

Option 2 : when the bet is 5,000 or more if I’m scared to in-fact watch it.

I mostly practice good money management but if I do find myself in a situation where I bet an inordinately large amount and didn't watch, I'll check the score on flashscore app on my mobile and I'll hide the score with my thumb. Then I'll slowly look at the score as if I'm squeezing cards.

          Lol...

If busy, got a big wager in and not watching live stream NHL, if I see the lines on bet365 disappear, I will immediately google the nhl team, as google scores updates very fast.

Usually the lines disappearing means goal scored, sometimes a penalty and sometimes a close call (but no goal).

For some reason, when I decide not to watch, I sometimes will login to the sportsbook and open the market to check the odds inplay.
It often leads to bad decisions though, for instance just this week I hedged a bet to settle for a loss, and of course the initial play ended up winning.

              Never check

Had Nets +2 for $5k v Phil the other night. Nets lead whole game. Philly covers on final shot.

              Lose

Had $5k on VGK last night

Caught glimpse of TV in 3rd it was 3-1 with like 9 min left. Thought ok, winner

              Mush

              Had $10k Saints (+200) v Vikes NFC Divisional 2017

Look up they lead w like :22 sec left

                Bankroll management

Always bet the proper amount and you won't find yourself in a situation of being afraid to check the score.

Besides if you do make a step out play or bet bigger than normal it's better to watch the game. If the stakes are big then you pay more attention to the details. Details that can give you an edge / help you in your future bets regarding the team you had bet on.

yes, i definitely use the peak through method

i use yahoo sports app because i can usually tell whats happening otherwise...with the play by play, huge game cast of the field/court or even seeing box score numbers like hits/errors

checking the back numbers first gives you even more of sweat (single digit numbers)

so if its 8 -4 your team is losing/lost by the last number

but could be 78 - 84 and you win

i hate when they grey the teams out that lost though

As far as I am concerned, there is a psychological process a few seconds before login, the pessimist inside me already accepted the loss. I feel surprised when I see it won
