Bob Myers? Jerry West more like. Now Jerry West is with the Clippers, and not surprisingly they're making all the great moves. Warriors will sink over the next few years
wrong. ainge took over celts in 2003. team went 24-58 in '07 and pierce demanded a trade as he was frustrated with ainge and mgmt. how you can't remember this time frame when ainge was horrible is surprising as it was a common surprise he still had a job. the always scheisty kevin mchale gifted ainge and moreover his former celtics team kevin garnett.

and ownership didn't want to pay harden. not presti lol. and he lost durant cause he was being a pussy pretty much. going to a team he could beat lol. warriors won't win chip next year, but to say they will sink next few years is just foolish. myers is as aggressive and wily as anyone in fa market.

Magic just wanted to be a talking head like he was for the Dodgers. He didn’t want to actually have to work.

What a chicken sh*t way to quit.

magic just seems like an idiot who was a great basketball and has some real charisma/charm that has served him very well fronting los angeles businesses.

but he has been a train-wreck basketball-wise since he retired.

i do think that ultra-elite athletes have serious problems as coach/GM/admin. my guess is they don't understand that 99.9% of people are nowhere near as physically talented as them.

I agree with this too. It seems like best coaches and front office guys were usually average to above average players, not superstars.

There are always exceptions though. Lakerboy will chime in lol

I'm not wrong insolent fool. He DID inherit that pre-big3 team. So it took him 5 years turn turn a mediocre team into a winner. How long is he supposed to take? -you do realize there are 29 other teams in the league?

Thunder ownership didn't want to pay the luxury tax. Presti chose Ibaka over Harden. It was thought Durant would handle James, Westbrook would handle Wade, and Ibaka would handle Bosh. 3 perimeter scorers were thought to be too much at the time. He wasn't forward thinking.

The media absolutely destroyed this franchise. They were criticized from the owner down to front office staff to the players. It’s not even like they were expected to win a title this year. Weird

We should’ve listened to lavar ball. Magic was just a puppet. Bring in someone more lowkey who will put the leg work in business wise. Lebron will attract the talent.

You're the freaking Lakers. You've won the most titles w the Celtics. But Paul George gives u the finger? The media didn't destroy u. U destroyed u. The buss family destroyed u. U did it to yourself. I live 50 miles from staples center. Been here my whole life. I'm sorry but I know better. The media did not do this to u. U did. Don't blame anyone else.

There's a joke out here that we Non-Laker fans say: Most Laker fans we know are NOT basketball fans, they are Laker fans only. they don't know didley-squat about the rest of the league. they think the Lakers are The Universe. this idiocy makes us brim with joy that the proud Laker franchise has missed the playoffs an astounding 6 consecutive years. SIX CONSECUTIVE YEARS!!! WOW !!!

Would u like to see the list of former good or great players children who are NOT stars? It would take me weeks to compile because it is hundreds of thousands names long.

But how about these guys sons?

                      - Michael Jordan
                      - bill Russell
                      - Wilt Chamberlain
                      - Jerry west
                      Kareem Abdul jabbar

I'll stop. What have u heard from them?

IN GENERAL I SAID. IN GENERAL, SONS NOT AS GOOD AS STAR FATHERS

that makes a guy a star? his career scoring avg only 13.7 pts. 7.4 RBG. NEVER made an All Star team. he was a good player. NOT A STAR. NOT A HOFer. his son is WAY BETTER

Sam Bowie was picked #2 in the 1984 draft, one slot ahead of Jordan.

                        was Sam a star, too?

                        Thanks for reading, Gaucho

He was a star. Back in 1978 you could be a star and not be in the NBA. I think the NBA was still broadcasting the finals on tape delay so being a college star was a bigger deal. Maybe not an NBA star but he was a huge deal at the time he was drafted. Kind of like Opie.

Anyways I agree that most kids do not follow their parents in their athletic achievements. Kind of like that other Thompson kid that played for the Dodgers for a minute.

Based on Magic's quit speech his heart was never in the job.. He quit... His biggest problem that he said is that he couldn't tweet NBA players when they broke records or did something really well to congratulate them.. Said he needs to spread his wings and fly with no restraints and this job was holding him down..

                                    COME ON MAGIC!!!

Just say you don't like the job and you're OUT.. Geeez....
