really liking this Cubs team moving forward. think they match up well against a potential playoff opponent in the Dodgers with the 3 lefty starters they can send out to neutralize that offense. then adding a nice righty bat like Castellanos at the deadline will balance them out when Dodgers counter with a lefty of their own.

im tempted to grab some futures on em.

Yeah I see them as the only real threat to the Dodgers and I think there is value at 9 to 1 for sure. There are some issues the Cubs have that I don't see impacting them in the regular season that much but could be issues in the playoffs though. They need Zobrist back against better lefties like Ryu and Kershaw and they still have issues in the bullpen even with Kimbrel.

One additional thing I like about the Cubs in the postseason is they have no pressure, everyone is expecting the Dodgers to come out of the national league, Cubs just won the world series a couple years ago, the pressure is all on the Dodgers.

even though Cubs bullpen is questionable, I would still take them over Dodgers bullpen. its obvious Kenley has lost a gear and chances are they will be relying on converted starters for a lot of relief. Cubs at the very least have some structure in the order of their bullpen.

Zobrist will help because hes a vet and can play anywhere, but I still like Bote playing 2b every day. I wish Maddon would play him more consistently. hes a good player.

Most importantly though Maddon > Roberts. thats ALL DAY.
