I had to put them far, mostly cause I hate uva but also feel like most years a conf gets talked so poorly about no matter how true it is they generally have a team make a run. I don’t see it. UVA walking to the FF this year. The numbers may say they play slow but this team is different than the past. Their D slows you down but they don’t try to grind out every possession like before. They actually run an offense which is nice to watch.Comment -

Honestly I think I’ve watched them maybe 4x all year. Both duke games, the unc game, and prob pieces of a few more. Obviously against duke and unc it serves them well to slow it way down cause they ain’t gonna beat those guys getting up and down the court, but the numbers say they generally play really slow. Since beginning of February they have only played 4 games that got above 60 pace!! 63 against gwebb, 62 against ncst, 63 in second duke game which was same as 1st, and think they had a 61 against Irish of all teams. I’m chalking it up to their D. They make everyone else use the full 30 which limits their own possessions.
Either way, they don’t just try to grind out games anymore. They learned that it kept other teams in it. They come out in the 2H and put their foot on your throat. Offense is more explosive than it was. May take 20 seconds, but they get a good shot and can light it up from deep. Bennett has adjusted.Comment -

Again yes the offense is way more efficient than recent years (it was pretty close in ‘16) but far as pace and how fast they shoot it basically the same as always, .2 seconds quicker than last year. Some years they have averaged above 21 seconds per so I guess you can be correct if you want, lol. I feel like you just want this to be different tho, the numbers don’t support that there been a change.Comment -

This might be chalk city year but still been a long time since we didn’t get at least one 7 seed or lower into the elite 8, ducks the only hope for that tradition to continue!!
