#9Almost a half a billion dollars for hitting a round ball with a bat.. SOB!!! I should have played baseball growing up.. Just swinging at shiiit 24/7 to develop that hand eye coordination from the crib on...
That's crazy pay to sit in a dug out everyday and shooot the shiiit with the boys.. Get up for 5 minutes and try to hit a ball and then run 90 feet as fast as you can.
Can be a pitcher to, just learn to throw a heater and a nasty curve ball and you're in.. Baseball is a joke...

#19I agree. Seems like a genuine kid. He's very talented.... and a lot of youngsters look up to him. Apparently the Angels wanted a face of the franchise for MANY YEARS to come.

Imagine going to a batting cage and hitting a ball going 95 mph. Now multiple that by about 20 and you have the most difficult thing to do in professional sports in hitting a mlb pitcher. It's one thing to have the coordination, bat speed, and what it takes mentally to stand up there in front of a crowd and hit a 95 mph ball that could be high/low/inside/outside, but then you have the added variables of different speeds and ball movement and oh yeah another guy against you on the mound who has studied your strengths and weaknesses and may just drill you in the ribs or head at some point for the fuk of it.
As further proof of how difficult it is, pretty much all pro mlb players would look semi competent on a basketball court or playing a few downs. Put most NBA or NFL players up to bat just in pre game batting practice and you wouldn't even be sure what sport they were trying to play.Comment -

If Trout continues his pace he will be the GOAT. Considering MLB revenue and the amount of money that gets tossed around on TV deals, that kind of money seems fair for someone whom at his age has been the best ball player in history.Comment -

i'm going to have to look up.

#33The Angels have reached a new 20-year deal with Fox Sports worth roughly $3 billion, per Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. That windfall of $150 million per year is not only the largest in the division, but also $100 million more per season over their previous 10-year, $500 million deal.
now add merchandise, stadium seats, luxury boxes, vending etc to that.Comment -
