Books push back as MLB tries to dictate no betting Spring Training.
Earlier this week, MLB requested gaming regulators in Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Mississippi not allow betting on spring training games due to “heightened integrity risks.”

In a statement, MLB said “Spring Training games are exhibition contests in which the primary focus of Clubs and players is to prepare for the coming season rather than to win games or perform at maximum effort on every single play.”

Nevada and New Jersey reportedly have denied MLB’s request.

I can understand the MLB position, but also think if they want to profit from betting, they also signed up to be part of the money making machine. And their part is to police the cheaters, not to tell others how to run their side of the business.

I can't think of anything more illogical than betting on spring training games.

Bet some spring training games at the new us books, leave the account empty for a few weeks, and watch the bonus offers roll in ;-)

Lol. I really think I’ve never wagered on a single spring training game in my 28 year life...lol. And I hate bonuses because of the rollover, bonuses with insane rollover requirements are for squares lol.

All of this nonsense in the name of "integrity", do they even realize how low volume there is on spring training games? I mean, how much could you even get down at regulated books on 1 game right now? What possible incentive would there be for an umpire or manager to intentionally throw a game? Even if the regulated books agreed to this, that doesn't prevent action from going offshore or elsewhere... imo better to have it legal if your interest is truly in detecting and preventing game fixing.

I would think spring training is something books would love to not offer.

Only people betting are total degens and big time sharps.
