Once people got a chance to see him as a very clean, well dressed and handsome latin man, with a soft voice, they fell in love with him. He's easy to listen to while watching the game.

The JLo wife brings a Hollywood angle to ut, but he's humble on TV- people like it. Guy could run for office.

Alex shrunk like a scared turtle.

But I do agree he kept himself relevant and richer after retirement. No small feat.

I never disliked him at all... he was a great player and had a great career. I forget what was his scandal? juicing up? pshaww everybody did that I don't think bad of any of them that did it. NYC is a tough town and Jeter was the beloved captain... media and fans had to have a villain so Alex got that label.
