The story has few fantastic features to it. She was betting 1/6- to 1/8th of her bankroll and if a lot of games were winning by half a point - she was betting pretty tight games, so to avoid a losing streak of 6 in a row and go broke is almost like hitting 5 out of 6 in a lottery.
