I work in finance, or did. Between jobs and struggling to find a new financial analyst role with decent pay. Been feeling depressed about it lately. Been 3 months now. Also single but I haven’t attempted dating in awhile so that’s less of a bother.

I want to move to another city, but without a job in hand worried I won’t find success. With few interview offers here, I don’t know if I would have more luck in Texas (I want to move there because much lower taxes, big oil boosted salaries and low cost for real estate entry). I live right outside of Washington DC currently so moving to Texas would be costly. Applied to 50+ businesses in Texas, not even a phone call.

Sigh to it all.

It did the trick for me, after years and years of working insane hours for someone else (I once worked 8 months with no days off)

It takes guts and determination, but anyone can do it - plus You can do it from any city in the world

Keep moving forward man. I have learned that things can be sky high and rolling good or in the gutter and always seem to go wrong. Life has a funny way of matching super lows with super highs. One "cup half full" way of looking at it is that you CAN move to a different state. Some people have wife, kids, dogs... cant leave where they are at so easily. Check all states, plenty of great places out there. Expand the job search that way. One will come along. Hell, you could always just gamble for a living
