At what point do you give up?

I have been doing betting for about 2 full months now. I am down by about $300 after starting with $1,000. I was up to about $3,200 at one point, but then I ended up paying Advanced Sports Advisors for two weeks of picks, and after taking into account their cost and what I lost with them, I was down to $150... I have an agreement with my wife that I am not allowed to add money to my Bovada. I am currently at about $700, but i keep breaking even. Every time I see people make picks that are typically fades and play them as such, they win, and whenever I see someone doing well, I play those and lose. It seems like a never ending stress cycle trying to get money in this industry. I can't for the life of me figure out who is solid to follow and who would be a good fade.

I know this is more of a rant about how crappy the last couple months have been, but I'm curious if any of you are legitimately profitable and if it is even worth my time now that I am at $700. I always see people that post up their track records on their capping sites, but then I pay and play their picks and lose my ass (Doc Sports, Guaranteed Picks Today, Offshore Picks, TKWins, to name a few I paid).

What he said. Most of us have been doing this a long time. 15 years or so for me. I have lost more than I won, but all this is for me is entertainment. I cap my own games. When I hit I feel good. When I lose I have no one to blame but me. All I’m trying to say is pick your own games, and don’t pay for picks.

I am currently on a horrible run the last 4 months. I won a lot beginning of last year at the end cashed out $92000 or so minus $40000 i put in or so overall making a nice profit. This year so far different story . The worst luck ever. A ton of 1 point losses. Games that look like easy winners coming down the stretch and they blow it over and over . I do not know how much i have lost so far the past 4 months. Even with winning in casino and working it up i have to be coming up on minus $10000 . If something does not change soon i will take an extended break probably. My sports bets have to be losing at an 80% rate or so at least feels like that. About 3/4 of the losses either looked like an easy winner or lost by 1 point.
