Lots of folks love going for March Madness, but I always recommend the 2 weeks of COnference Tournaments. Way more basketball to bet on, way fewer crowds and lineups.

There’s nothing like the buzz of opening morning though, Thursday 9am tip-off, so much action, so much energy. The viewing parties are good with free booze and private betting windows, went to the Hard Rock one several years ago and had a blast, even met up with and took some shots with Booya!

Personally, unless you’re already rich, I don’t understand why you would enter such supercontests. The edge of the sharps will defeat many, and most importantly, the government takes 25% in taxes of 5k+ wins or more. If Westgate keeps some, it’s even worse. Lottery tickets pay back 50-65% so already the contest is like buying a lottery ticket.

I do not like donating 25%-40% of an entry to a corporation / government. From an EV outlook, no thanks and overcoming that edge, in the long run, is impossible.

Yes, because of winnings being taxed at income AND that there's no possible way not to declare, the math doesn't work out --- at all.
