Did Money Make The Major Sport Athlete Noncompetitive??
Its a growing trend all sports meaning the usa pro major sports

Money so big now it seems many guys do not care about winning and losing any longer

Friends with everyone off the playing fields on opposing teams

    Social media distractions

Should have a much lower baseline pay and making playoffs/winning has an enormous prize pool similar to e sports.

If you play in the NBA max you can make is 1M a year, but if you make playoffs it's now 10m, win the championship everyone on your team gets a $30M bonus etc.

If you gave me Lebrons body I could play in the NBA... I think that's a bigger reason why some traditional sports are dying. The most determined/skilled sometimes don't make it... And are these current pros really the best? Do they even have real competition for their job? Such a small player pool that they draft from.. Imagine if every child in the USA was mandated to play golf from age 6-18 you really think the same pros currently would be there? Would their current level of talent even be acceptable to qualify as being a professional?

They should just pay for their meals and give them room and board only. Then they will start playing better. Owners should keep all the money from ticket sales, tv deals and merchantise sales.

Not in their contract years. You'll get the very best effort out of these over paid lazy non competitive PRO ATHLETES during that year then it's back to going through the motions.
