#40Some misinformation in this thread. Vendors in the stands still take cash. More than one was on local radio attesting to this, as they were told during meetings 2 weeks prior to the news release.Comment -

Even if someone wanted to load a Rays Card.... I can't see them loading it with CASH ONLY... a customer would have to use their CC to load it anyways. Not all would pay Cash.Comment -

#43Originally posted by TheMoneyShotThe CC processing fees would be minimal. I would imagine stadiums get a great deal on the rate.... I would say they are under 2% per transaction.

#44Originally posted by kidcudi92Just curious as I know some small businesses that do 20k a week gross in CC (which isn't shit $ wise to a CC processor, I get) but they get raped on the fees
You know how some places like Home Depot and Walmart ask for your PIN when using a deb card? Once that PIN is entered... the transaction goes from a percentage like 2% to a flat fee of like $0.49 (without the percentage.) So basically... let's say someone walked into Home Depot and purchased $1,000.00 worth of stuff on their chk card (with PIN). The processor for Home Depot would only charge $0.49 for the $1,000.00 transaction.... look at that savings. Literally paying .05% in fees. (I think I did my math right? But you get the idea.)Comment -

Booya runs cards up to get a free subway sandwich and then has balance $8500 and pays monthly minimums, it makes no senseComment -

#49Originally posted by TheMoneyShotIf someone is doing 20k a week.... if they aren't shopping for under 2% a swipe.... I don't know how they made it in business thus far? You could get around 1.8% a swipe with that kind of volume.

Best way to examine a merchant processing rate (if they allow you to view it...) take the monthly statement.... and it will show how much was deposited in the business chk acct. Then, it will say "discount fee" or "processing fee" how much they charged your business. And then you just divide.... for example...
Amount Deposited: $42,854 monthly statement
Processing Fee: $749.95
Just divide... and the rate would be around 1.75% <----- This is a pretty good rate.
Everyone thinks they get a great deal on Merchant Processing.... for instance... you'll have a sales rep that promises you 1.15% a swipe + $0.18 etc. Sounds like a great deal..... sometimes there are hidden charges monthly. Batching out fees.... Higher tier fees. etc. C C processing is a scam to be honest. lol
That's why... the only way to really do the math is take the amount deposited in your business chk acct.... and then see how much they charged you that month in fees. Just divide... and that's how you get your "true percentage."Comment -
