Sean Payton single handedly loss the game
tied 20-20 with 1:58 on the clock on 1st and 10 from the 20 yard line. why pass the ball? run the ball 3 times in a row possibly getting a first down to get a last second field goal. worst case scenario, kick a field goal with a minute on the clock. Saints players/fans wanna complain about the refs, Sean Payton put them in that situation.

He was asked about that during his press conference- he said the play was a run but Brees checked out of the play.

thats interesting Temple, a veteran QB should never check out in a situation like that. I doubt it, but im wondering if Payton said that to save his own @ss

I don't see why he would throw his QB (especially Brees) under the bus- but with that ego-maniac payton you never know.

It didn't cost them the game , you just explained why it didn't by the TO's left , etc .
If the pass does go for 10 , Game over , Rams TO's mean nothing because either they use it to stop the 1st down picked up from it . Or let the clock run , use the next 2 plays and Saints kick to win or miss and then Overtime .
They had 48 yards rushing the entire game , getting 10 probably isn't happening running 3 straight .
He F'd up not making them use the TO's but it is just the "What if" game .

just doesnt make sense to me. for the last 6 weeks, Saints played clock management football (obviously because of the Brees arm injury). now they make the mistake of not running the football with 2 minutes left in the game that gets them into the super bowl? whether it was brees or payton's mistake, somebody fukked up bad. and somebody needs to be held accountable

bro, you sound stupid. run the ball 3 times, worst case scenario leave 50 seconds on the clock. instead of what the saints actually did. pass twice which were incompletions leaving the rams with 2 timeouts and much more time on the clock. Somebody fukked up. maybe Brees, maybe Payton

Tell me again how long it took Rams to get that FG to send to OT ?
You're playing a what if game , they drove down and kicked the tying FG in 1:22 and certainly could've cut seconds here and there .
                  Have you watched football ?
Fukkin Brady carried Pats down to win in less than a minute vs KC in the regular season with 0 Timeouts.

What you fail to realize , you act like nothing changes should that have happened .
If it did , Rams change every call that was made to something else to adjust for the time difference.
Then what happens ? Nobody has a damn clue nor ever will .
The good old "what if" game .

This is not a good post. Football is a game of deception.

The pass in the flat caught Rams totally off guard. Look at how badly the defender played the ball. Ref missed the call, that's all.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Karma from BountyGate looms large for Sean Payton and the Saints.

30 extra seconds is a big deal with a young QB

they made it into fg range in 5 plays under a minute of game time so they would have still went to ot

Saints played not to lose and it cost them. Brees showed he is overrated with an awful game. Payton's play calling was bad all 4 quarters. If the original 1st down call was a run play that they checked out of because Rams were stacking the box, Payton could have called a timeout.

Saints shouldn't blame the refs. Look in the mirror and hold yourself accountable for poor play.

They could of ran the ball till about 1 minute, kicked the FG and the Rams would of had to drive all the way down the field.

They also had the ball in overtime to win as well.

The regs made a shit call yes, but the Saints blew this game

I don’t know how people act like the Saints played not to lose.... Brees was inaccurate, got sacked, and so on and so on. On top of that they threw in first down. I blame the douchebag more for putting Hill at QB. The guy doesn’t even read the d linemen. He just hands it off everytime. Was pathetic. Thomas wasn’t targeted enough either
