Saints were slow out of the gate because they were essentially idle for 3 weeks. By clinching the division and home field throughout , they rested their A team against Carolina. They were off last week watching the wild card games and rusty to start todays game. Once they got a few reps in, and down 14 , they started to show why they were #1 this year.

Anyone who thinks that saints secondary played well is silly. They left 3 more picks out on the field. Only reason they broke up a number of passes was because most were under or over thrown by a yard+

I imagine goff won’t hesitate to leave the pocket either. So they can’t just bumrush each play.

The Rankins injury is significant against a team like the Rams. Rankins is one of the most underrated DL in the league. You can hide a loss like that against Wendell Smallwood. Not Gurley and that OLine
